Exciting Updates and Collaborative Opportunities for Robson-Harrington Park!
Neighbors and Friends,
We hope this message finds you well and enjoying the beauty of our wonderful community. We wanted to take a moment to provide you with some updates and insights regarding the ongoing efforts to enhance Robson-Harrington Park.
As you're well aware, our central mission as Friends of Robson (FOR) has been to secure funds for the transformative "Terraces Project," aimed at revitalizing the left terraces at the park. These areas, unfortunately, had suffered from neglect over time, becoming overgrown with poison oak and other undergrowth, rendering them unsightly and virtually unusable.
Upon closer examination, we realized a significant challenge: the entire expanse of terraces lacked a water supply. Despite this obstacle, our dedication to park improvements remained unwavering.
After thoughtful deliberation, our stakeholders came together, proposing a two-fold solution: first, to clear the terraces and install inviting benches, allowing everyone to enjoy the scenic views while we addressed the water supply issue. This proposition resonated with us, and we were delighted to find that Public Works shared our enthusiasm.
It's with immense joy that we share this update: the benches we carefully selected for the "Terraces Project" have been successfully purchased, delivered, and assembled. Currently resting in the Town's storage yard, they eagerly await installation, to be seamlessly integrated into the park's rejuvenated landscape as soon as the Public Works schedule permits.
Beyond the benches, conversations with the Public Works team have opened a new avenue for park improvement. A second phase is on the horizon, focusing on enhancing the BBQ area for resident use. To ensure that our efforts align with community desires, we plan to conduct a poll, seeking your valued opinions on this endeavor. Your input will play a pivotal role in shaping the path forward.
Additionally, we invite you to share your insights and ideas as we explore more effective methods for fundraising. Our experiences have shown that event-based approaches require significant volunteer commitment while yielding relatively modest financial results. Your suggestions could be the catalyst for a more efficient and impactful way to secure funds for ongoing park improvements.
We deeply value your engagement and support in this collective effort to transform Robson-Harrington Park into a cherished space for all. Together, we can enhance the beauty, functionality, and unity of our community.
Thank you for being a part of this exciting journey. We look forward to your continued involvement and contributions.
